Providing players with PowerPlayer data and feedback helps them understand where they are in their development process, with the focus on opportunities for maximal improvement. Intangibles feedback helps them understand the habits and characteristics that we as a club are looking to promote. That’s the base all personal and sporting development is built on.
I really think this type of digital feedback is the future of hockey. Players want it. Parents want it. And as a coach I want it. It gives me a great way to connect with my kids and parents, and to extend coaching beyond the two hours of weekly practice time we get. Parents have told me they really appreciate the time I put into this, but honestly, I just love it!
We’re always looking to track and communicate player development and progression, not only skills on the ice but also development as people off the ice. For coaches, players, and parents, PowerPlayer is the perfect solution.
I love the drills and metrics for sure, and so do the kids, but seriously, the most useful thing for me personally is the ability to coach from home. Kids are visual learners, so I love that I can send my kids videos or diagrams for drills that help them understand what we’re going to work on in practice. We have very limited ice time, so that really cuts down on the amount of time we need to spend explaining things, and maximizes the amount of actual on-ice hockey movement my kids get.
